CityScape Internet Services, in collaboration with Pipex and Unipalm
Ltd, announce the release of CityScape Email, a low cost, simple to
use Internet Electronic Email package for WIndows 3.1
CityScape Email is a new concept in Internet connectivity - it

as simple as mailing "send filename" - the file is then transfered
directly onto your PC - no uudecode or re-assembling of mail messages.

lists and Usenet news via our mail list server software, we can also
set up any closed or open mailing lists/conferences that you might
require.

=== Connecting Europe since 1982 ===

Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7PB, UK.

----------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION
EUnet GB (formally UKnet) has been offering Internet services to the
commercial community in the UK since 1982, and introduced full IP
services in 1991.
EUnet GB offers a range of services ranging upwards from a worldwide
email system `EmailLink' to full interactive leased line Internet
connectivity with an IP router included `IPLink+Router'.
SERVICES
EmailLink
This service gives you full International Electronic Mail Access
usually via a dialup modem to a EUnet GB Point of Presence (PoP).
The existing Pops are located in Canterbury, London, Reading and
Cambridge. Several more are planned.
Quarterly subscription: 95.00
Pence/Kbyte For U.K. send or receive: 00.00
Pence/Kbyte For internationally received: 00.00
Pence/Kbyte For International send only: 7.5p
EmailLink + News
This service gives you all the services of `EmailLink', but in
addition you also have access to around 2000 different groups of
USENET news and information. The news option gives you up-to-
the-minute information of what is happening in your own fields of
work, study and recreation.
As for `EmailLink' plus an additional 50 pounds per quarter.
IPDial
This service gives you everything that `EmailLink+News' gives
you, i.e full email and news facilities, but you pay only a flat
quarterly fee with no usage charges. You also have full Internet
access for National and International remote login, file transfer
and other Internet Protocols for your own users via a EUnet GB
PoP.
The shared service gives you access to a pool of modems. The
dedicated service gives you a modem at our site dedicated to your
personal use.
Dialup shared: Joining fee 300, Standard quarterly 450
Dialup dedicated: Joining fee 1000, Standard quarterly 600
IPX.25
This service allows sites to link their BT PSS Service to the
EUnet GB's BT PSS-PLUS closed user group, thus benefiting from
kilosegment-free usage charges within the closed user group. You
can therefore make use of your existing X25 connectivity, but you
also have full bi-directional Internet connectivity.
9600 PSS: Joining fee 1000, Standard quarterly 900
48k PSS: Joining fee 1000, Standard quarterly 1250
BT charges are not included in the above charges. It must be
emphasized that X25 is a significant protocol overhead, so the
9600 PSS option should only be considered for lower usage sites.
A non-IP closed membership is available for non-IP sites (details
on request).
IPLine
This service gives you full bi-directional Internet connectivity,
as with IPX25, but you now have the benefits of either 9.6K or
64K line capacity on your link to us.
9600 PSS: Joining fee 1000, Standard quarterly 750
64k PSS: Joining fee 1000, Standard quarterly 1250
IPLine + Router
This service gives you all the benefits of `IPLine' with the
additional advantage of an Ethernet to Serial Line Router
included in the package. In addition if you take this option for
3 years we give you the router and the charge drops to that of
`IPLine', thus you have a method of connection with minimal
startup costs.
9600 PSS: Joining fee 1000, Standard quarterly 1000
64k PSS: Joining fee 1000, Standard quarterly 1500
NOTE
(Please note that the `IPLine' and `IPLine+Router' services do not
include the Public Carrier Line Charges).
Charges for all services are based on the concept of cost-centers.
All machines within one organisation, one charging class, and one
geographical location (usually defined by Postal Code), that are
centrally invoiced to one invoice contact.
EUnet GB services offer a well defined range of services and a clear
upgrade path, so you can start services with the an `EmailLink'
service and migrate as your needs develop to the more sophisticated
`IPLine' or `Corporate' services.
Please don't hesitate to call us if you require any more
information.

INTRODUCTION
Prices exclude VAT (currently 17.5% for UK users) and are in UK
Sterling.
There are three levels of service. Discounts are available for
early payment. Payment for the subscription is a minimum of three
months in advance.
SERVICES
BASIC SERVICE
This lets you connect to our system and use our computer to read
and send world-wide email and news.
You will need a terminal (or a computer with a communications
package like CrossTalk) and a modem. A suitable modem can be
bought for about UK#90 (we can sell you one), and a minimal
communications package called `Kermit' is free.
UUCP SERVICE
With UUCP your machine can automatically collect and send news
and mail for you. You do off-line email and news
reading/composing, drastically cutting down on charges. This
Service allows use of a fast modem (at least 9600bps,
V.32).
For added speed, our machine can call yours when mail arrives,
for which we only charge the cost of the Mercury connection plus
10%.
This service also includes a normal Basic Service account for
free, which you will typically use for small amounts of
administration of your own news and mail connections (such as
choosing which types of news items you want sent to your machine
automatically).
We also create and maintain an entry in the world-wide UUCP maps
for you, plugging your machine into the world's electronic mail
and news systems in its own right.
Although we are running UNIX on our machines, you can run any
software on your machine that can use the UUCP protocols. For
example, for MS-DOS there are programs such as Waffle and UUCP to
do this for you. We can provide a pre-configured version of
Waffle for you if you wish for a small charge. Waffle and UUCP
are free.
FULL-FEED SERVICE
This essentially gives you all of the UUCP Service but with
unlimited volumes of mail and news in your feed and unlimited
time to collect that feed. We will also help you set up your own
unique world-wide mail address at which you can add or remove
extra users and e-mail boxes at will. This is ideal for a
company-wide connection to electronic mail and news.
RESTRICTIONS
The `reasonable usage' limits are not detailed here. The main one
is a limit of an hour per day connected to our system on the Basic
Service login account.
COSTS
Prices exclude VAT (currently 17.5% for UK users) and are in UK
Sterling.
BASIC : #60 per year
UUCP : #100 per year
FULL-FEED : #300 per year

What is UUCP
UUCP is a communications protocol which enables mail/news/binary files
to be transferred between machines over a fixed/dialup link, this allows
users to receive/send internet email/news from their home site using
ukmail as their point of connection.
We have FREEWARE/SHAREWARE packages for the following machines;
UNIX [most UNIX flavours have UUCP built in]
PC/MSDOS Machines
ACORN
AMIGA
ATARI
MAC
You can login using the "getuucp" login and download these files direct
to your computer NOW from our infocom interactive BBS on 0734 340055.
In addition, there are commercial UUCP packages available which offer
UUCP connectivity on the MAC & PC/MSDOS Machines and for "wildcat" users
using a specific wildcat UUCP add-on [wcUUCP].
For advice on connecting your system to ukmail, please call us and we
will be happy to advise on your requirements.
*New Feature*
AUTONETNEWS
It is now possible to change your news setup "on the fly", by issuing
commands via UUCP to "subscribe" or "unsubscribe" to a specific NETNEWS
group. It is also possible to get a listing of your current setup or
the setup of ukmail by issuing a "newslist" command.
AUTONETNEWS is a proprietory add-on package to UUCP provided by ukmail.

WinNET News & Mail
WinNET Mail (TM) is a Windows 3.0/3.1 application for sending and
receiving Electronic Mail and News articles with the world-wide
Internet and Usenet networks using just your Windows system and a
modem. The connection with the Internet and Usenet is provided
through The PC User Group's computer system providing WinNET (UK)
(SM) service.
The PC User Group has been offering Usenet News and Mail services
since 1988 and provides services via a custom BBS interface and via
UUCP for individual and site feeds.
COSTS OF USING WinNET (UK) MAIL
The WinNET (UK) Mail software is provided to you FREE of charge for
the purpose of connecting with the WinNET (UK) system. The WinNET
(UK) system is your connection with the Internet and Usenet networks
and usage is billed to you on a connect time basis (charges are plus
vat at the prevailing rate). The rate for on-line usage of the
WinNET (UK) system is:
3.25 per hour (Pounds Sterling).
Subscribers can obtain a login account on our machine to use
telnet, ftp, Gopher, IRC and other interactive Internet services
at a monthly fee of 7.25 (with no time charges on this part of
the account). Please mail help@win-uk.net for further details.
To request an account mail info@win-uk.net.
Unlike many on-line services and bulletin boards, you are only
connected to WinNET (UK) for just long enough to send or receive any
pending E-Mail at speeds as fast as your modem will go. This results
in connection times of typically 1 to just a few minutes. In our
experience, customers average 1.25 hours of connect time per month or
just 6.75 in charges (excluding on-line internet services).
FREE Windows Software
If you require a copy of the Software this is available for
download from CONNECT 081-863 6646, login as winnet (no password).
Alternatively, if you already have an e-mail address send a mail
message to request@win-uk.net with the Subject: HELP for more
information. You can use this method to request a copy of the
software. WinNET software is also available via ftp from
ftp.ibmpcug.co.uk /pub/WinNET/ and a number of other ftp sites
around the world. The software is also available on disk; please call
081-863 1191 or fax us on 081-863 6095 and we will send you a copy.

using PSI's Class A dialups.
PSILink 'Basic'

Specialix maintains a full Usenet news feed, sourced from PIPEX and
one or more backups. As far as possible all known groups are
carried. We will provide UUCP feeds of any subset of groups for
a flat fee of 200.00 a year. Note, though, that a full feed is
around 120Mb per day, which is impractical over the avialable
modems.
Currently we have Telebit Trailblazer (PEP) and USR Courier
(HST, v.everything-except-fast) modems.
The annual fee is independent of volume. We are also quite happy to
provide backup Ihave/Sendme links for free, as long as the "normal"
flow is small (<25k per day). If the flow on a backup feed increases
significantly for more than a week we will charge the normal fee.
We are also happy to setup nntp links where it seems mutually
beneficial.
We don't currently provide mail feeds on a commercial basis, and as we
are a private commercial site we have no public interactive services.
We do keep copies of the releases of our current news software
available to send to feed sites.
